Meet Buckhead’s New Tapas Restaurant, Buena Vida

Buckhead is a prosperous uptown, residential and commercial district of Atlanta, Georgia. Stylish Buckhead is very popular for its malls and independent art galleries. Some popular restaurants in Buckhead are Bone’s Restaurant and Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse.

A new tapas restaurant named, Buena Vida Tapas & Sol restaurant is slated to open in late 2019 in the North and Line Development at Beltline in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward, 385 N. Angier Ave. NE. Buena Vida is the new restaurant by Adam Berlin and Juan Calle, the owners of Big Sky Buckhead and concepts in Athens.

A tapas (tapa) restaurant is all about appetizers, or snacks, in Spanish cuisine. They may have a cold (such as cheese and mixed olives) or warm (such as fried baby squid, chopitos, which are battered). They have combined to make a full meal. With such greatness of tapas restaurants, it would be exciting to visit a new great tapas restaurant in Buckhead, Buena Vida.

The motive of Buena Vida Tapas & Sol restaurant is to “combine a long time passion for Spanish culture and Spanish food with their past success of fun social scenes with buzzy bars to create a new and elevated concept where the greatness of food brings people together,” according to a press release.

The design of this upcoming tapas restaurant in Buckhead is influenced by the contemporary bohemian-chic enclaves of Ibiza, the South of Spain and Mediterranean Coast Designer Meredith Petty has taken the owners’ (Adam Berlin and Juan Calle) inspiration to create this kind space, look for two-story windows and high ceilings around the bar.

Also, the restaurant is furnished with custom and handmade items, that are imported from Europe and Turkey by Lotus Design LLC. To finalize the design of this Tapa restaurant, E + E Architecture is working with the team. It is expected to be a light and airy space filled with lush plants, contemporary art, and vibrant bohemian colors. The central bar would make a fun space for casual dinners and Beltline-side drinks; it will open both to the restaurant and to the patio. The greenery and lush trees in the area make it a perfect spot for patio and open interior.

The menu will feature amazing dishes influenced by Adam and Juans’ travels. The great Chef Juan Hormiga, who has managed kitchens at restaurants in Madrid and Ibiza, is now moving to Atlanta from Spain to supervise the kitchen at Buena Vida Tapas & Sol restaurant.

The menu of beverage will include a selection of local beers and cocktails. Adam Berlin is finishing his Spanish wines certification, which will be used to finalize the beverage menu. For a beverage with tapas, it is usual to ask for a chato (a glass of wine), a caña (a small beer) or mosto (grape juice). The bar is planning to feature beer, cocktails and other beverages, focusing mainly on Spanish wines on their menu.

The new tapas restaurant, Buena Vida Tapas & Sol restaurant in Buckhead is the inspiration of the owners, Adam Berlin & Juan Celle by their travels to Southern Spain. Hence, they have decided to create their fifth hospitality concept featuring a unique menu with casual. 

Buena Vida will be the only restaurant in the new North & Line Atlanta development. The Historic Fourth Ward Park is on the left and the Beltline is on the right of this tapas restaurant, while Ponce City market is in the background, we could imagine the beauty and surroundings of this upcoming restaurant.
